JOSÉ LUIS FALCÓ
Founder and CEO at Génesis Biomed

Doctor in Chemistry (Institut Químic de Sarrià, 2001) and MBA (UB, 2007).Josep Lluís has 20 years of experience in the biomedical sector. He has worked for big pharmaceutical companies (Sanofi), medium-sized pharmaceutical companies (Ferrer Grupo), small biotech companies (Hospital spin-off), Tech Transfer Offices (Fundació Bosch i Gimpera) and consulting firms (Antares Consulting and Asphalion). He has also been an associate professor at the Institut Química de Sarrià (IQS).

His experience is based on Healthcare Strategy, Technology Transfer, Fundraising of start-up companies, Business Development, Marketing, Market Access, Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs. Josep Lluís has founded four companies. He currently serves as board member for three start-up companies and is a mentor for several entrepreneurs. In addition, in the last four years he has been involved in six private fundraising processes and he has contributed to raise more than 60 million euros for his clients.

The projects that Josep Lluís has been involved in are based on small chemical and biological entities, diverse medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, nutraceuticals and cosmetics. The therapeutic areas where he has recently worked are Oncology, Central Nervous System, Cardiovascular, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Traumatology, HIV, Microbiome, Antibacterials and Immunomodulation. He has global knowledge of drug/device development, having worked in Discovery, Preclinical and Clinical phases, Marketing and Post-Marketing. He takes part in programs such as Caixa Impulse and EIT Health programmes, participating as reviewer, mentor and professor. The entrepreneurial spirit runs through his veins. He has founded GENESIS Biomed to help other entrepreneurs and research centres in their current projects.

JAVIER SANCHO
Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Scientific Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.

Mentor and advisor in the creation and development of start-ups and spin-offs, with over 17 years of experience in the field of strategy, business models and operative plans. He is currently the head of the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Scientific and Corporate Park of the UMH, which has dealt with over 1,500 entrepreneurs, 700 projects, and has helped put 140 new innovative companies into operation. He is also an associate professor at the UMH, in subjects such as Company Creation and Product Design, as well as for the MBA and Master’s Degree in Innovation in Journalism, etc. Most relevant training: MAS with the Doctorate in Company Management and Taxation, MBA (Miguel Hernández University of Elche), graduate in Biochemistry (Miguel Hernández University of Elche), graduate in Biology (University of Alicante) and Master’s Degree in water management and treatment (University of Alicante).

ANA FERNÁNDEZ
Project Manager at INGECAL

Graduate in Chemical Sciences from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Barcelona. Operations Management programme from the EADA business school. Since 1998 she works as Management Systems Consultant at Ingecal, a consultancy and training company, and since 2004 she is specialised in health products. She is currently the project manager for the department of health products and corporate development.

In the field of health products, the activities she conducts are the implementation of quality management systems and conducting audits for standard ISO 13485, the production of operating licenses and consulting in the production of technical dossiers for products. Associate professor at TÜV Rheinland and BSI. Organisation of technical conferences on health products in collaboration with SGS. Participation in courses, talks and conferences linked to health products. Collaboration in the publication of articles on health products in the Forum Calidad magazine.

CRISTINA RIBÓ
Pharmaceutical Sector consultant at INGECAL

Graduate in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona. Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical and Parapharmaceutical Industry from the CESIF. From 2003 to 2015 she has been linked to quality departments of the pharmaceutical field, holding several positions such as process control manager at Alcon Cusí, quality manager for IAT, quality control manager at Archivel Farma and deputy technical director at Novartis Farmacéutica. She currently works as the head of pharmaceutical-cosmetic projects at Ingecal. Head of the Quality Systems in the Pharmaceutical Industry postgraduate course at the University of Barcelona, since 2009.

ÁNGELES SOLER
Professor at the Department of Corporate Finance of the University of Valencia

Doctor, full professor at the Department of Corporate Finance of the Unversity of Valencia. She is currently the coordinator for the double degree in Law and Business Administration and Management. Her main line of research addresses the financing of SMEs and growing companies, taking part in several research projects. She has been a teacher for the Master’s Degree in Management and Finance Control, for the Professional Specialisation Diploma in the Stock Market and Financial Markets, and, currently, for the Master’s Degree in Creation and Management of Innovative Companies at the University of Valencia.

AMAYA MALLEA
Head of the Department of Legal Consultancy in R&D and innovation at PONS IP

Amaya Mallea is specialised in Intellectual Property and Industrial Property (especially in Patent and Technology Transfer Law), and gives advice in these fields to innovative companies, the technology transfer offices of universities or biomedical research foundations, among others. She is an expert in negotiating and writing contracts (patent licences, consortium agreements, research and development contracts) and has extensive experience in the implementation of intangible asset management systems, as well as in the definition and execution of technology transfer processes. A professor at the Master’s Degree in Industrial and Intellectual Property, Competence and New Technologies of the ISDE, at the Industrial and Intellectual Property course for the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), at the Health Organisation Management Programme of the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and a regular speaker in legal courses, seminars and conferences linked to industrial and intellectual property. She has a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the Comillas Pontífica Unviersity ICAI-ICADE, a member of the Association of Professionals of Research Transfer, Innovation and Management (RedTransfer), of Licensing Executives Society España y Portugal (LES) and of the Spanish Association of Entertainment Law (Denae).

CARMEN ANTÓN
Head of Legal Services at the Universidad Miguel Hernández University Foundation of Elche

Lawyer specialised in commercial law. She is currently the head of Legal Services at the Scientific Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. Throughout her professional career she has had the opportunity to work for firms and multinational companies such as Landwell-PriceWaterHouseCoopers, Grupo Celistics (logistical partner of Telefónica in Latin America) and Axon Partners Group (international firm that manages venture capital funds). She is a graduate in Law and has a Higher Degree in Finance from the Villanueva University Centre and a Master’s Degree in Legal Corporate Consulting from the IE Law School.

DANIEL MARTÍNEZ
Training coordinator at IDEAS UPV

With a doctoral degree in Company Organisation and an MBA from the ESCP-EAP European School of Management university in Oxford, Daniel has over 10 years of experience in entrepreneurship and the creation of start-ups. As well as being the training coordinator at IDEAS UPV and coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Start-up Administration at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, he is a member of the good practices working group of the Valencian Entrepreneur Council, and for four years he was the CEO of Start-UPV. Furthermore, he is a collaborator and speaker in different events such as: European Commission, Microsoft’s app campus, Hackhaton Telefónica, Yuzz Banco Santander, Akademia Bankinter, EDEM, iMartes emprendedor Fundación Bancaja. Consultant at Deloitte, Bancaa, Uniconsult.

MARTA PRÍNCEP
Founder and CEO of BHV Partners

BHV Partners is a firm focused on identifying the main academic research projects that are providing solutions for global health challenges, guiding scientists-entrepreneurs in the creation of a company, accelerating its growth and opening doors from seed funding until series B funding. A history in entrepreneurship, technology and innovation transfer as the head of entrepreneurship at Bellavista and head of innovation at Biocat. Member of different advisory boards and executive committee such as Oncoheroes and NewBorn Solutions, and a mentor in several acceleration programmes – The Collider, IQS Tech Factory, Caixaimpulse, BIND4.0 -. CEO of non-profit organisations and patient foundations. Likewise, she has experience as the head of medicine discovery and development units at Grupo Ferrer, with two medicines in a clinical phase and some patents as the inventor. Participation in several educational activities and as a speaker in conferences and events. Doctoral degree in Biology and AMP (Advanced Management Program) from ESADE Executive Education.

ÁNGELA PÉREZ
CEO at the Instituto de Medicina Genómica, SL

Born entrepreneur. Her clear view of the genomic medicine market allowed her to fund her first biotechnological company at the early age of 24, in 1998. Likewise, she is currently involved in up to eight corporate initiatives, focused on genetics and genomics: chief amongst them being IMEGEN, one of the European leaders as a laboratory of genetics and genomics. At IMEGEM she holds the position of CEO, consolidating the strength of the company. She has a balanced combination of her scientific profile, with two publications in Nature, with her high-level management skills. Her valuable knowledge allows the companies she is involved with to reach the highest level and become established as a benchmark in their market.
